South Bend Air Furnace Filters
Improve Your Home’s Indoor Air Quality
A yearly change of your air filters is common knowledge. But what many don’t realize is that with constant operation throughout the year, there are many subtle factors to consider regarding the frequency and type of filter to install in your equipment. Some furnace filters can actually be priced high based on the material and function you need, making shopping for the right filter even more difficult.
The indoor air quality experts at Great Lakes Heating & Air Conditioning are committed to saving you money and keeping your home efficient.
That’s why we offer several tips for choosing the right air filter in your home:
- Protection: The primary function of an air filter is to provide clean, breathable air. Ask the experts at Great Lakes Heating & Air Conditioning what type of filter works best for your equipment, and you’ll not only be able to increase the quality of your air, but maximize efficiency and prolong the life of your unit.
- Seasons: Many people don’t pay attention to their HVAC system until harsh weather hits. The truth remains, however, that your climate control doesn’t just work to keep you warm or cool, but also to circulate air throughout your home. By changing your filters regularly, you’ll be able to stay in complete control of your air.
- Price: One of the biggest factors of a filter is the price. To make sure that you’re choosing the right option for your equipment, it’s important to note the material. In fact, some high-priced filters can actually be too fine, meaning that air itself will have trouble getting through, which makes your system work harder and costs you more money.
Our team provides two different types of filters: one type is designed to optimize your system's function, and the other type is designed to optimize your lung health. We recommend that you take this into account as you choose the right option for you!
Are your filters to blame for poor health and high utility prices? Contact Great Lakes Heating & Air Conditioning online or call (574) 498-7556 today!

“The differences? When I needed new AC, I got three on-site estimates.”- David M.
I have confidence in this company
"The differences? When I needed new AC, I got three on-site estimates. One was a glossy car-salesman-like company, another was an old-family folksy company, and then Great Lakes. The glossy guy I disliked, and it was pricey. The folksy guy I liked, but his knowledge was lacking--he thought my old AC concrete pad would work fine, but the Great Lakes guy said you need a new pad, and also he recommended running a new duct from the basement to upstairs so that cooler air there saves stress on the AC system. I have confidence in this company."- David M.
